“I learnt that God has not just saved me but also lifted me up. I am precious, unique and I have potential.” Lydia*
Christians are a minority in Myanmar and in Lydia’s* community people can become angry when she tries to tell them about Jesus. On top of this Lydia is considered by some to be too weak to work and of little value, just because she is a woman.
Open Doors Partners invited Lydia to attend a women’s training seminar and through it God changed her perspective on life. No longer under the impression that she should be confined to the home Lydia is now running small businesses, teaching other women, and sharing the Gospel using the skills she has learned.
There are so many women like Lydia across the world who are persecuted for their faith and gender. Whether she’s been widowed, experienced trauma or doesn’t have the same opportunities for economic empowerment as men, help her rise with courage and fulfil her God-given potential by giving a gift today.
Every £28 could enable four women to attend empowerment training, so they can understand their healthy Bible-based role and true value in the family, church and community.
